Density Calculator

Calculations

Density is the weight divided by the cubic dimensions. In a palletized shipment, the cubic dimensions are determined by the dimensions of the pallet and the height of the shipment.
Measurements must be in inches.

Density Calculator

Density is a measurement relating the weight of your shipment to its dimensions, or pound per cubic foot

Typically, the higher the density, the lower the classification and vice versa. A pallet of bricks would be a high density shipment. Crates of ping-pong balls may take up more space, but would be a low density shipment.

include Skids and Packaging

Density calculations should include the entirety of the shipment, including everything that is being shipped.

It is important that dimensions and weight are accurately measured in order to calculate the true density (and appropriate class) for the shipment.
